Questions
Who are the guests?
Families whose homes were damaged by fire, water or sewer backup, placed through their insurance claim.
How does payment work?
The insurer pays you directly. Staysi never holds your rent, and invoices its 8% only after you're paid.
Is this a tenancy?
It depends on the province and the agreement. Rules differ across Canada; we use agreements suited to each province, and you should check local rules.
What about damage?
Report it to us right away. We document it and work with you and the insurer under the signed agreement.
Can I say no?
Yes. You can decline any placement, as long as the reason is fair and lawful.
Do I need a licence?
Some cities require a short-term or rental licence. You're responsible for holding any that apply.
